I’m Patrick – a three-time Emmy Award–winning editor based in Santa Monica, California.
My career began in 2012 when a viral music video I cut for Duck Dynasty landed me my first editing job. I soon became a full-time editor on the series and cut its record-breaking Season 4 premiere, which became the most-watched nonfiction telecast in cable history.
Since then, I’ve built a career around documentary storytelling. Between Action, A Season With, Player 54, and Clutch: The NBA Playoffs, I’ve edited multiple seasons of premium sports docs for Showtime and ESPN. In 2019, I helped edit Leavenworth, executive produced by Steven Soderbergh, and later served as lead editor on Netflix’s The Movies That Made Us, where I also took on a supervising producer role for seasons two and three.
My recent work includes Broken Horses — a collaboration with The New York Times that earned me the 2025 Sports Emmy for Outstanding Journalism — and MARINES, a gripping Netflix documentary series produced by Amblin Entertainment that embeds with a group of Marines as they navigate a deployment.
In 2023, I edited the feature documentary Milli Vanilli, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and went on to win the Grierson British Documentary Award for Best Music Documentary. The film also earned nominations from the IDA and Grierson Awards for Best Pop Culture and Best Music Documentary, respectively.
I’ve won two Emmys for Outstanding Multiple Camera Editing for my work on Netflix’s Resurrected Rides in 2025 and Making Fun in 2022.
I’m a member of the Motion Picture Editor's Guild and the Alliance of Documentary Editors. I attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated in 2011 with a degree in Film, Television and Theatre.
When I’m not making L cuts I love to run, snowboard, play piano and spend time with my wife, daughter and our Wheaten terrier.
